Ben Hunt has officially rejoined the Brisbane Broncos, marking the start of his highly anticipated second stint with the club where he first made his name in the NRL. The 34-year-old playmaker, who signed a two-year deal, expressed his excitement and determination to help the Broncos reclaim their status as a powerhouse in the competition.
Speaking during a team event on Moreton Island, Hunt reflected on the significance of his return. “It feels really good; it feels like it’s right,” Hunt said. “It’s something I never thought would happen, but to come back and finish my career at a club like the Broncos is something I’m really excited about.”
Hunt, who left the Broncos in 2017 to join the St. George Illawarra Dragons, is now eager to lead the team back to glory. Despite the rigorous pre-season preparations awaiting him, Hunt is embracing the challenge. “Pre-season is about getting fit, strong, and prepared for the season, so I’m excited to rip in after the Christmas break,” he added.
The star halfback will officially begin training on January 6, joining a squad hungry to build on their strong 2023 campaign, which saw them narrowly miss out on a Premiership. Hunt’s return brings experience and leadership to the Broncos, with fans hopeful his presence will be the final piece in their quest for a long-awaited title.
As Hunt declared, his mission is clear: to bring the Broncos back to the pinnacle of the NRL.
