The Modern Family alum, 34, recently opened up about married life with Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams, and it seems the couple’s romance hasn’t cooled one bit. In fact, Hyland described their relationship as still very much in the honeymoon phase.
“Every day is a highlight,” she gushed in an exclusive interview with E! News, adding that the best part of marriage is the unwavering partnership she’s found in her husband. “Supporting each other” is at the heart of their union, she emphasized.
Hyland has long described their bond with an out-of-this-world metaphor, often saying she and Adams “love each other to Pluto and back.” But their love story isn’t just about each other—it also extends to their four-legged family member, Boo, a dog the actress affectionately calls their “honorary child.”
“I feel like I gave birth to her,” Hyland joked. “It’s that inexplicable feeling of feeling like you carried them in your womb for nine months even though they’re a different species.”
For Hyland, being a devoted dog mom is one of life’s greatest joys. Boo, she shared, fills her mornings with both laughter and warmth, whether through playful hunger-driven antics or extra cuddles. “She’s so smart, too smart for her own good at times,” Hyland admitted. “Just waking up to her every morning… no matter what, it’s a highlight.”
That deep love for her pet has also inspired Hyland to use her platform for a greater cause. Continuing her partnership with Purina, she’s joined forces again with the Purple Leash Project, this time designing items for its Courageous Together collection. The campaign donates 100 percent of proceeds to RedRover, a nonprofit dedicated to helping animals and people escape situations of domestic violence.
“Animals are the most loving beings on this Earth,” Hyland said, underscoring why she feels compelled to champion the initiative. “They are capable of more love than I think human beings are. They’re so important.”
She further highlighted the life-saving role pets can play for survivors of abuse. “Animals are vital in keeping someone safe in those situations,” Hyland explained, noting how a strong connection with a pet can provide both comfort and protection during times of crisis.
For Hyland, love whether shared with her husband, her dog, or through her advocacy work remains the centerpiece of her story. And judging by her glowing outlook, marriage hasn’t just been a chapter for the actress, but an ongoing fairytale.
