Hailing from Caguas, Puerto Rico, Alex Cora has built a stellar career in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a player, coach, and manager. However, this MLB icon recently shared insights into a more personal milestone — his engagement to longtime partner Angelica Feliciano.
Cora, who played for teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and Washington Nationals during his playing career, transitioned into coaching with the Houston Astros in 2017. He subsequently took on the role of manager for the Boston Red Sox, leading them to a World Series title in his debut season in 2018. Despite a brief interruption in his managerial tenure due to the sign-stealing scandal in 2019, Cora returned in 2021 and continues to guide the Red Sox as of 2024.
Off the field, Cora’s engagement to Feliciano is a testament to his focus on family. Feliciano, who also hails from Puerto Rico, is the daughter of Jesús Feliciano, a former Olympic flag-bearer for the country. The couple, who have been together for several years, share twin sons, Xander Gabriel and Islander Manuel, born on July 21, 2017.
Cora has kept much of his personal life private, but he expressed his joy about this new chapter. “Angelica has been my rock,” he shared. “Our journey together has been incredible, and this engagement is another step in our story.”
The family resides in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where they balance a bustling household with Cora’s demanding career. In addition to his twin sons, Cora has two children from his previous marriage to Nildamarie Lecleres-Vasquez: Camila, a Boston College student, and stepson Jariel.
As Alex Cora continues to leave his mark on the baseball world, his engagement to Angelica Feliciano highlights his dedication to building a strong foundation both professionally and personally. Fans eagerly await not just his next achievements in MLB, but also the next chapter in his life story.
