New Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs recruit Enari Tuala has opened up about his decision to sign a two-year deal with the club, highlighting his sense of loyalty and commitment to his new team as he looks ahead to the 2025 NRL season.
Tuala, 26, arrives at Belmore after five successful seasons with the Newcastle Knights and an earlier stint with the North Queensland Cowboys. In a career that has seen him score 42 tries in 105 NRL appearances and represent the Prime Minister’s XIII in 2018, the New Zealand-born outside back has proven himself as a versatile and dependable player.
Speaking about his move to the Bulldogs, Tuala emphasized the importance of loyalty in his decision-making process.
“I’ve always been committed to giving my best wherever I’ve played, and that’s something I’ll bring to the Bulldogs,” Tuala said. “When I spoke to the coaching staff and heard about their vision for the future, I could feel the passion and drive at the club. It’s an exciting time to be joining, and I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve its goals.”
Tuala’s versatility—equally comfortable on the wing or in the centres—adds valuable depth to the Bulldogs’ backline, and General Manager of Football, Phil Gould AM, is confident he will make a significant impact on the team’s structure.
“Enari’s consistency and professionalism have always stood out to us,” Gould said. “His ability to play multiple positions is a great asset, and we’re thrilled to have him on board as we build for the future.”
As Tuala prepares for his ninth season in the NRL, he is eager to contribute to the Bulldogs’ success. He will join the team for pre-season training in November, where he plans to build strong connections with his new teammates and settle into life at Belmore.
“I’m ready to hit the ground running,” Tuala added. “The Bulldogs have a proud history, and I’m excited to be part of that. I’m committed to giving my all for the club, both on and off the field. It’s all about working hard, earning respect, and playing my part to help the team succeed.”
With his loyalty, commitment, and experience, Tuala is set to become a key figure in the Bulldogs’ quest for success in the upcoming season.
